Pancho
Villa
Pancho Villa
was in charge of a group called the guerillas, which was an armed band that used surprise
attacks instead of open fire. They burned the town of Columbus, New Mexico and
killed 16 Americans. Wilson then took 6,000 troops under Pershing to go capture
Villa. The expedition went on and dragged into failure. Then the stress of the
war in Europe caused Pershing to wi thdraw the troops from Mexico.
